STICKS. THIS IS MY PROCESS OF REALIZING THEIR POTENTIAL.
I create heirloom crochet hooks and knitting needles: rustic, refined or embellished with hand-painted art. Each one is unique, and all are hand-carved from the trees that grace our landscape. Choose from live oak, aromatic camphor, cypress, pine and sometimes treats like avocado, basil, or found mystery wood. All cuts are made seasonally during trimming and never harm the tree. Wood is inspiring. Even fallen branches and sticks continue the life of the tree in their fibers and seem the perfect accompaniment to wool and other fiber work. My hooks are handmade using a variety of wood sources from our natural landscape.
Some hooks are perfect in their rustic state, while others are a backdrop for hand-painted works of art. All are unique, one-of-a-kind tools.
